Commercial
Kitchen

State & Federally Approved Commercial Kitchen

Maryland Packaging proudly features a full-sized incubator and accelerator kitchen, which you can use to create your foods either yourself, or through our professional staff.

What’s an accelerator kitchen?

Commercial accelerator kitchens help you build up your food business fast.

We help small start-up businesses expand and accelerate their growth with all the equipment and capabilities you need to start creating your product in bulk.

If you’re a business that’s been around for a little while, looking to grow, but your current set-up just can’t accommodate the demand you’ve received from your budding fan base, this is the perfect solution for you.

Get into big box stores with production in an SQF-certified facility.

Many big name brand stores, such as Whole Foods and countless grocery stores around the United States, won’t accept your food product unless it was made in an SQF-certified facility.

This is because SQF standards are higher than the basic FDA and USDA safety standards required on the federal and state level. SQF is part of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) started after many of the food outbreaks of the early 2000s. Their increased rigorous food standards cut down on outbreaks and demand ever greater food safety to:

  • Reduce outbreaks
  • Decrease recalls
  • Slash liability issues
  • Improve brand image

When we work together for better food quality, we all win – you win, we win, the consumer wins.

High Pressure
Pasteurization (HPP)

Extended Shelf Life – Naturally & Nutritiously

We’re just going to come right out and say it: here at Maryland Packaging, we LOVE High Pressure Processing (HPP).

It probably has something to do with the great health benefits that come with HPPing your foods.

We like our food tasting great, with all the vitamins and nutrients we need to get us through our busy days. We imagine you and your fans probably do, too!

We’ve found that one of the best ways to make this happen is with High Pressure Processing.

Keep Those Vitamins and Nutrients IN Your Foods

Fresh ingredients and healthy superfoods have never been more popular. Consumers want healthy foods on their store shelves.

More and more, people are turning to whole, real foods packaging with vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, and other important nutrients to help them live healthier lives.

The only problem? Many of the manufacturing, processing, and packaging methods we use on our foods today destroy these very nutrients.

What good does it do to use the best ingredients in your product if the elements people want most will be crippled in the making? (Probably none).

That’s why we love HPPing our foods.

We prefer to keep our vitamins, thank you very much!

Foods Stay FRESH Longer

Believe it or not, this safe, natural method of preparing your foods to go on the store shelf also helps extend the shelf-life of your product by as much as 120 days!

It also cuts down on post-process contamination by sanitizing the product after packaging.

All this without the need for questionable preservatives and other harsh chemicals.

Heat
Pasteurization

The Perfect Solution for Those Items that Must be Cooked!

For some foods, High Pressure Processing is the perfect solution. For other products, the thing your food needs most is a little bit of heat!

For these, we’ve got a suite of tools and equipment to help you get the job done.

Fill out the form below to start a conversation about how we can help you get your foods all fired up and ready to hit the shelves.

Skin
Packaging

Attractive Look with an Extended Shelf-Life.

Skin packaging foods – rarely seen just a few years ago – is becoming increasingly popular these days.

With skin packaging, we pull out all the air and leave nothing but the food.

This stifles the growth and spoilage of any potential bacteria or other pathogenic items that may be lying in wait within the food product.

This can extend the shelf-life from the typical 7 days you get with MAP packaging up to 3-4 weeks with skin packaging!

These foods stay tasting great longer and can sometimes continue to tenderize while waiting to delight your consumers.

The packaging is slim, attractive, and versatile. Because the packing is so tight, you can even hang it up to display without any of the food inside falling out of shape!

MAP
Packaging

A Popular Choice for Fresh Foods.

MAP stands for Modified Atmosphere Packaging.

When you use MAP packaging for your foods, we replace the normal mixture of naturally occurring gasses in the air with a specialized composition scientifically blended to keep your foods looking and tasting fresh.

Each food type has its own unique atmosphere it thrives best in. Our extensive quality standards ensure the perfect solution for your product every time.

We’ve been in the food industry for 30 years and have both the experience and expertise to create the ideal Modified Atmosphere Packaging composition for your foods.

We work with you to understand the best solutions for each product’s needs.

Dry
Packing

Free-Flowing and Non-Free-Flowing Dry Packaging Available.
