Many big name brand stores, such as Whole Foods and countless grocery stores around the United States, won’t accept your food product unless it was made in an SQF-certified facility.

This is because SQF standards are higher than the basic FDA and USDA safety standards required on the federal and state level. SQF is part of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) started after many of the food outbreaks of the early 2000s. Skin packaging foods – rarely seen just a few years ago – is becoming increasingly popular these days.

With skin packaging, we pull out all the air and leave nothing but the food.

This stifles the growth and spoilage of any potential bacteria or other pathogenic items that may be lying in wait within the food product.

This can extend the shelf-life from the typical 7 days you get with MAP packaging up to 3-4 weeks with skin packaging!
